Now I Wish to talk about Kombucha. That is obviously entirely unrelated to those Banana Oatmeal Cookies, but I understand you won't mind.

Allow me to start off by stating that my husband drinks apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water daily to decrease inflammation or anything like this.

He claims it's magical. I assert it's nasty.

While I know this will seem spectacular (because it is), I literally dry heave at the sight and smell of the early ritual to a daily basis. He loves that around me personally.

Depending on this reaction, an individual would believe I would stay far away from Kombucha, right? I mean, after all, it surely has a vinegary tang.

However, for any reason, I keep trying it. I Wish to like it SO DANG BAD.

I'm really a marketer's fantasy because every single time I see somebody I know enjoying a sip, or realising their favourite brand and flavor with a boomerang on Instagram, I'm all,"Maybe you will actually taste acceptable!" .

Just imagine me with air quotes around the word appreciating because I find it difficult to think this stuff is actually enjoyable in almost any sense of the term.

Along with spoiler alert. None of them taste great. None.

I am basically convinced that anyone who drinks this brewed tea stuff includes zero taste buds, or seriously funky ones.

They have the perfect amount of banana flavor and a beautiful chewy feel thanks to the oats. The chocolate chips are only an additional bonus.

I like these biscuits somewhat about the back side side, so that I bake them for 9 or 10 minutes. If you want these to be cooked through, I'd take for 10-11 seconds.

I'll mention that the oats almost makes them seem like a breakfast cookie, so they're all sorts of amazing using a cup of coffee or tea first thing in the afternoon.

I did add some chopped walnuts into a batch my website instead of chocolate chips, however, everybody definitely chosen the chocolate chips on the nuts.

These biscuits are a fantastic way to use those super ripe bananas sitting on your counter right now. I will not even tell anyone they're not really breakfast cookies. Enjoy!




1/2 cup unsalted butterat room temperature

1 large egg

3/4 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup pops flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350°F.

From the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and mix in the egg until fully incorporated. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add in the mashed bananas and vanilla.

Gently add the the flour mixture to the banana mixture and mix until just blended.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and stir to recombine.

Use a medium cookie scoop (about 1.5 tablespoons) to scoop the dough on prepared cookie sheets leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then lightly press the shirts of each cookie using the base of a drinking glass. Since these cookies do not spread much, this can give them a traditional cookie shape.

Allow the banana oatmeal cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack to cool completely.
